I know this is a long shot...but my wife's cat went missing last night. We live in the 500 block of Jugong apartments, in Joongkye-dong, near(ish) Euhaeng Sageori.
Our cat is a ginger...kind of a generic thief cat. Answers to "Max." Here's an older photo (he's fatter now): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/466323/max.jpg
If you spot him (or you think you spot him), please PM me or text 010-4094-2338. We will offer a reward for his safe return (but not just any ginger cat...it has to be Max! )
Thanks...[/img] |

Tell your wife I feel bad that her cat is missing. I love cats. I spent a few weeks taking care of two cats. I think they probably miss me. I gave them tons of attention. |

Update: we found our cat! Cold and frightened, but alive and healthy.
We need to buy him a collar and ID tags. Do they do the microchip thing in Korea? |

Glad to hear. Its tough out there for a housecat.
I was so happy to land a house recently with a fully enclosed courtyard & a little garden. My sweet old cat loves to go outside daily now after 10 years of indoors only. |

Congratulations, Cedarseoul! Well done.
My dog was lost some years back, and my world really turned upside down looking for her. But after incredible effort and logistics, we were reunited.
Really glad Max made it home. |

I'm so happy you find your ginger cat. They're gorgeous cats. Generally, cats in Korea are scared of people. Today, I saw a ginger colored cat in the Indian-Arab section of Itaewon not far from the mosque, and I saw a ginger cat that could have used a home. He seemed like he could be friendly. I feel for cats out there in the streets. I'm glad your little family member was found. |

They DO microchip dogs for sure. In fact, they passed a law requiring all dogs to be chipped which has caused a big stir. Don't know if the law was implemented or put on hold yet.
Either way, they definitely do it for dogs, and I'd imagine they'd do a cat, no problem. Only thing is, if the cat was picked up, would it be scanned? THAT, I don't know. |

Wow. That is great OP. I thought for sure that he would be gone forever. Care to share how you find him? |

Actually, we found him in the basement of our building. We had checked there previously / thoroughly, and didn't see him...so we think he wandered around the neighborhood for a day or so and then made his way back to our apartment. We live on the 14th floor, so he probably had no idea how to get up to our unit...but he knew he was in "home territory."
We're elated that we found him. I thought we'd never see him again. |

That's such happy news. I'm so glad that you found him. It must've been that huge, amazing feeling of relief when you saw him there. |
