|
|
My f-4 visa expired five months ago. I am currently in Korea on the tourist visa. Will I need the same documents that people who go for a renewal go through or will I need to start all over again?
Has anyone else gone through this? Will they take my U.S. passport in place for my naturalization certificate??? |

Currently in the process of doing this. My visa expired two years ago, I left 3 years ago.
Just bring your old F4 card, passport and all the documents you used when originally getting the visa. They will take your old card, take your photocopied docs and will ask for a passport like photo from you. Will update when I have the actual card in my hands sometime in February 2012. |

Expired = start from scratch with a new visa application.

If you're in Korea you should be able to go to immigration and file for an extension but will have to pay a penalty fee. I believe that it's 100,00 won per month. If you've left Korea then apply for a new one. |

Took about 3 weeks for my card to be in my hands. If you've been out of the country when your F-4 expired then there is no penalty. Just pay 60,000-won. Bring a photo, all the docs you used to apply originally, passport and your old card. |
