So the gator is out of his natural element, the water, but those jaws, boy oh boyee....

that lion is fast man and has powerful claws but that alligator has some tough skin man.

Who would win?

Lions are adapted for killing other mammals. They use their canines to break the neck of their prey. So how are they going to do that with an Alligator? Alligators actually usually hunt small animals, which is why their mouth is shaped the way it is and not like other crocodiles (slender). Still though an alligator could crush the limbs of a lion before the lion could do anything. A better match would be a crocodile against a lion.

Full grown lion vs baby gator? Baby lion vs baby gator?...
more info!
Full grown 10~14 foot 1000 pound gator vs full grown 1000 pound lion....the lion would not win....in fact the lion will run away...once the jaws of the gator are on ANY animal...in water or out....the gator wins....unless it's against a full grown elephant.....

I saw a doc where a tiger killed a croc that was on land by flanking the croc and avoiding its jaws. In water, the croc probably wins.

I wonder if tigers have more interaction with crocs.

I'm just having difficulty picturing a lion penetrating a croc's hide.

Man I'm surprised the lion wasn't scared and even entered the water halfway through. Huge stones.

We do have to ask though, was it as he was with his pride, thus knew he had back up? Were it a one on one (think Doc Holiday vs Johny Ringo in the woods) would he not just kind of walk away? Then again if he was defending a piece of food, yeah I don't see a fully grown adult male lion backing down to anything.

Maybe a grizzly bear though. One swipe from a grizzly and poor Lion is done for.

...

If he's anything like the average human, the answer is yes.

If the alligator snapped on a paw and did a death roll, that could be an issue. If the lion takes the back and avoids the snapping jaws, that could be a determining factor too.
Wonder how much animals contemplate fight strategy?

Yeah, I guess a girl would see it that way. Wink

One of the silliest, most random threads I've seen here in a while.
Why don't we do one for Mickey Mouse vs. Donald Duck. I vote for Donald; he's got the temper.

This question brings back an old funny memory. Two young Korean kids, kindergarten age, were arguing about if a dinosaur or shark would win in a fight. I could understand just enough to have a laugh. They got really passionate about it and almost started fighting.

There is a very famous story of Cofucius in Chinese elementary school textbook.

One day, Confucius travelled to a countryside and saw two kids were arguing.

He then asked them what they were arguing about.

One kid said: we were arguing which sun is closer to us, the sun in the morning or the sun at noon. I think the sun in the morning is closer because it looks as big as a wheel while the sun at noon looks just like a plate. Isn't it the closer the object is the bigger it looks?

The other kid said: no I don't think so, the sun at noon is way hotter than the sun in the morning, isn't it the closer a fire is, the hotter it is?

They asked Confucius to make a judgment for them . Confucius said: I don't know either.

The two kids laughed at Confucious: who said that you were smart!

The end.

Well, it does seem to show how fulfilling Floating World's life must be for him to write dozens of useless posts every day on a website he claims to despise.

At least I post my silly threads appropriately in the off topic forum, rather than spewing them all over the entire Korean forums like you.

Shows how fullfilling your life must be seeing you claim to not live in Korea and own a Porsche and live a jet-set lifestyle etc. Embarassed Rolling Eyes

Anyway 251 posters that viewed the topic seem to dissagree with you. Very Happy Shocked

When I wrote "silly" and "random" I didn't necessarily mean it in a completely derogatory way, but it's an unexpected thread to see nonetheless.
