Edit: Don't fit yourself into any category. Don't get offended. I think it's fine to do anything on facebook unless its vicious trolling.

I posted the poll just to remind you sometimes things we think interesting or worth telling should be kept private or shared for no more than 3 times.

				| You forgot the "Everyday is a crisis" posts.
I've got a facebook friend, an aquaintance from high school, who begs for prayers and positive thinking everytime her kids take a test, her husband goes on a business trip, she is short of cash, etc...

				| As long as people are posting about themselves on their own wall, I don't care what they are posting. It's easy to remove someone from your news feed, and I seldom even have to do that. I've had a few friends who where overcommitted to FourSquare telling us every movement they made, but other than that I haven't hidden any of my friends news stories. Some people post stupid things, but it usually only reflect on themselves.
However, I find it annoying when people are posting things in groups and discussions which is inappropriate for the topic. Do not share a "funny" picture or videos in a group for our basketball team (some slack is given to basketball related stories) or in a local buy/sell group. People writing personal letters on my wall is also something I don't like. That is what personal messages, emails and phone calls are for.

 | But my concern is mainly about where they are posting and not what they are posting. Fortunately, people who has been using facebook for a little while are very good at posting things in the right section. It is mainly people who are new to Facebook who might not understand that the newest Eminem video is not interesting for our basketball team or that personal walls are not the place for confidential information.

Several facebook friends of mine have been there for long time but still post way too often than neccessary, and more importantly, most things they post vary from boring to annoying. I have hidden some of them, but more kept coming out.

I would get angry at people who post such rediculous things that I feel compelled to check out. As if I can't stop sniffling a smelly shoe. Isn't it laughable.

Sometimes I even wonder if the reason I still care and read those rediculous things is I just want to look at others' stupidity to feel superior.

				| Any kind of status message that contains the words, "if you like this post, re-post it as your status." I seriously wonder what goes through the minds of people who actually do this, like it's some kind of rule that must be obeyed.
 This is my favourite:

Please copy and paste this as your status if you know someone, or have heard of someone who knows someone. If you don't know anyone, or even if you've heard of anyone who doesn't know anyone, then do still copy this. It's important to spread the message even if no-one knows anything about anyone. Oh, and the hearts. ♥ ♥ ♥ For ****sake, don't forget the hearts. ♥ ♥

But I must admit, I am guilty of the food pictures. However, I think they are far more interesting than Jesus Daily or how wonderful mothers are.

  | Part of the problem is that you are actually reading the stories. Whenever you read a story, their stories will be more likely to show up in the future. I think part of the reasons why I hardly have any annoying stories in my news feed is because I don't click on silly stories and Facebook automatically filter out those users.

reading this gave me a flashback to a simpler, happier time....

P.S. no, I'm not criticising your spelling, we all make mistakes, just simply noting that it reminded me of the aforementioned link.

				| I find it a bit annoying to read about people's funeral arrangements on Facebook. (An old friend from Graduate school died this past Friday. Just read a buddy posting - The funeral for blah, blah blah will be....) Hey, don't get me wrong! I'm grateful to have learned about her passing, I just wish it would have been in a more humane way. I guess Facebook is so @#$%^ inhuman, really. (Don't get me started on Jacques Ellul & The Technological Society. )
I also hate when people post about their Farmville and other games, and I get notifications. I turned it off my puter, but for some reason I'm unable to get it off my smart phone. Very irritating.
