I don't really understand what the cave is all about. Is it like, caving? Like should I wear clothes that are going to get dirty? Or is it just like a tourist site?

It's touristy.

Wear comfortable clothes and good walking shoes (it might be a little slick in places) and you'll want to be warm (maybe wear gloves) but basically you're just walking along a trail in a cave. You're not going to be spelunking through mud.

you will get dirty. some of the metal walkway is very tight, and you'll have to crawl if you are of any decent size. I'm 6'2" and ended up having to pull myself through part of it with my hands/crawling, and it is a wet place. I.E., don't wear nice clothes as you can get dirty.

It is a cool cave though, as far as caves go.

tennis shoes, sweater and wind breaker should suffice. I went in August. Temperature outside was about 85 degrees. Inside cave it was about 65.

"the interior of the cave is cool, being a steady 15C/59F year-round, and in winter gloves are recommended for holding the cool metal railings. A 1.7 km/5577 ft length of twisting, turning limestone caverns have been outfitted with metal walkways, becoming quite narrow at some points, and subdued lighting. The vertical height of the walkways is 50m/164 ft."

Don't lick the railings that are covered in ice by the door if you visit in winter, I learned the hard way. I would recommend wearing a motorcycle racer's uniform with loads of flashing multi-color LED lights.
