Assuming you are in South Africa...
Go to your local police station and ask for a criminal record check. They will fingerprint you and charge R59. It will take about 8 weeks to get the results back at your local station.
Once you have the criminal background check, you need to go the department of International Relations in Pretoria to get that and a copy of your degree apostilled. Beware, it closes at 12:30, and if you submit your documents between 12:00-12:30, you need to collect them the next day, submissions prior to 12:00 will be available in about 30mins.
If you don't live near Pretoria, you can get an agency to help you docs4expats is one such agency. http://www.thesouthafrican.com/news/docs4expats-a-new-service-for-south-africans-abroad.htm
I've never used them, so I can't comment on whether they are good or not.
The requirements for an E2 visa are the same as any of the other nationalities which are eligible (with the exception of Canada, which doesn't require an apostille, but rather an embassy-certified copy). The only major difference between the different countries is the time it takes to get the CRC. SA is one of the worst, but that's due to issues on our side. |
