I went home to Vancouver last week to see my friends and family. I flew there on Korean, but coming back my boss booked me on Air Canada. I haven't flown Air Canada for a couple of years because I've been lucky enough that for some bizarre reason Korean Airlines has been cheaper.
Anyways, while checking in I noticed that the flight departure time was about 90 minutes later than the scheduled time. I asked the clerk about it, and she looked at me like I was an idiot. No reason offered, she just confirmed that it was delayed. Wouldn't it make sense for her to at least point out to the customers that the flight was significantly delayed? They just don't get it.
While I was enjoying my extra long stay at YVR, I took a look at the international departures board. There were 18 Air Canada flights displayed, 9 of which were delayed (50%). Of all the other flights on other airlines, there were exactly 0 delayed.
I've flown many, many times out of Korea and Japan and I don't remember ever being delayed more than 20-30 minutes. I'm sure some of you have flown Air Canada quite regularly, and so I'm wondering if that's how Air Canada operates now. Are their flights often delayed like that? |

We have not flown AC for years due to horrid service (pre-flight and in-flight) and rampant price abuse for people who fly with them from Canada.
We find KAL to be too expensive sometimes and have used most American carriers. They are far cheaper than AC..... |
