Anyone know? Is it possible to do online or is it necessary to return to the states for 1-2 semesters?

I'm totally going along the same route. There is a website:
http://education.uky.edu/AcadServ/content/50-states-certification-requirements

It tells you each state's requirements.

It took me a year to get my certification from a university in Texas - the University of Texas at Dallas (Richardson, Texas). However, it could have taken longer, but I had many courses in my undergraduate, and that helped me. It depends how many credits you have in what you're getting certified in as it was in my case. I only know about Texas.

We don't have any interest in teaching in the USA, but only i international schools, DoDs, DoDea, etc schools. Just looking into the possibilities right now.

Hey, did you have to go back to Texas or could you do it online?

Your gonna have to pass the Praxis exams for any of those jobs. If you didn't do student teaching then you will need that too. Unless you can find a university that will substitute your teaching here in Korea for that. That is unlikely though has they will want you to be familiar with the US system.

What is degree do you have now?
What area do you want to be certified in?

Check out www.ABCTE.org. You can do the course work online and the tests in Seoul (I did it).

Limited certifications and states, but it is a path. I finished mine this month.

You could probably finish in 6 months if you really applied yourself. I took almost 2 years.
