I am selling my desktop, it is similar to this link :

http://itempage3.auction.co.kr/DetailView.aspx?ItemNo=A542471832&frm3=V2

In brief, specs as follows:

i7-870 (2.93 GHz) Quad Core ( 8 threads )
8 GB DDR3 1333 MHz RAM
1 TB 7200 RPM SATA 3Gb/s HDD
nVidia Geforce GTX260 1.8 GB Graphics Card
DVD +/- SuperMulti, Double Layer, Light Scribe
ENGLISH Windows 7 Home Premium.

I have it since about 15 months, it cost me near 1.5 Million Won, it is still sealed, but the warrenty has expired 3 months ago. I still have the original packaging with all cables and connections. It is a fantastic PC, i've been testing it in every aspect (extensive multi-threaded programming tasks, gaming, word processing..etc) and it was always as expected. As it is not easy for me to ship it back home, i am selling it.

I am looking for a reasonable price. If you are interested, please send me an e-mail at bashar.shboul [at] gmail [dot] com.

yes, it was installed originally in English, and thus if you run the HP restore it will be also in English.

You may want to SERIOUSLY reconsider your asking price. I went to Yongsan this weekend and was quoted 750k won for the following rig:

- i7 2600k
- 8gb ddr3 ram
- 128gb Samsung 830 SSD (http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ssd-review-benchmark,3139-6.html tops the charts)
- nvidia gtx 560ti
- dvd-rw drive
- windows 7
- 600watt PSU

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107-7.html your graphics card is a good 3 tiers down on the hierarchy list

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106-5.html
cpu is also a step down

tl;dr: This would destroy your rig for half the price, BRAND NEW.

If you call BS on this, here is the seller's contact info to confirm:
Manager Lee Jin-Won
#196, 2th, 21-dong, Sunin Plaza, 16-1, Hangangro-2ga,
Yongsan-gu, Seoul, Korea
TEL +82-2-718-7657

Straight off his biz card.

Good luck with your sale but I don't think it's right to sell computers at whack prices to people that may not be in the know about these things.

Thank you Bloopity Bloop for the response.

As you might have noticed, i didn't mention a price here. It was mentioned in the thread 5 months ago when i first tried to sell this PC. Anyway, i wasn't trying to sell my computer "at whack price", all i did is just mentioning facts.

On the other hand, both processors are extremely good, in the matter of fact for the last two years the i7-870 never fell off the best high end / most valued processors of all times. With slight overclocking, it can perform equally (or better) to the i7-2600. Check Intel website for comparing both processors.
http://ark.intel.com/compare/41315,52214

As for the graphics card, it is still the most valued card of all times since it was first released in 2009, thus, you may wanna keep that in mind.
http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=GeForce+GTX+260

The fact that this computer is not the best in the market is undeniable, however, it is still suitable for other people for other needs compared to yours, maybe. And believe me most people know what you have mentioned already because most of them have done their homework just like you.

If you are interested in this desktop, send me an e-mail with your offer, otherwise, you don't have to post here.

Cheers~

Ah, I didn't look at the date posted.

I appreciate your well thought-out reply. A lot of people here would call me a thread-crapper when really they are actually charging ludicrous amounts of money for their items.

I still wouldn't pay more than 350k won for a 1.5 year-old computer when I can get the rig I listed for 750k won.

If you'll let it go for 325, you got yourself a sale.

Thanks again for your response.

Again you might wanna have a look at the links i sent to you. If you have some experience in CPUs and Graphic Cards you'd know that mine are not so different from "the rig" unless you like to bring up some magazine reviewers crap, which i don't believe you would.

Even though this computer is 1.5 years old, it is still one of the best in the Korean Brands market, and you may check that. Take an example, your "rig" i7-2600 processor was released in 1st Quarter of 2011 and it arrived to Korea sometime by December (9 months later) , if you know what i mean. This computer specs are still retailed by HP with slightly better processor, and extra 2GB RAMs with more than 1.4 Million (check danawa.com for this specific piece of info)

Last thing to say is that you don't have to believe Tom's Hardware in whatever they say as many other sites have a better benchmarking tests for CPUs and Graphic Cards. In addition, take a look at pc4all.co.kr and check how much would cost to get a sound card like the one on my PC right now (somewhere around 150'000 won i believe)

Some details in assembling a PC are quite important, so please leave the Youngsan crap aside, what is so important for them is selling a PC not considering parts compatibility, which Brand Companies such as HP and Dell perform long before selling you their PC.

Regards,

I'm not going to comment on price, but a "vendor-built" computer can be well-built, or poorly-built. Also, it's easy for things like a monitor, LEGAL Windows, a nice keyboard/mouse, etc., to quickly add to the price you see on the wall.

Computers by brand makers like HP tend to put out computers vetted to work well with the components inside generally not conflicting (yes, and I agree, nothing is perfect). They come with a legal Windows version. A nice benefit is also that they tend to be very quiet because special custom heat sinks for CPU's are common with brands like HP. Plus it all comes in a pretty package, if that matters at all.

In any case, you can get more for your money if you build from components you choose (and you do your homework). But the big maker PC's like HP aren't that far off for the general PC user who just wants something fast that will stay useful for 3 to 5 more years.

Thank you very much for pointing that out. It is really a quite PC, no sounds at all.

Honestly, it was my plan to add 8 GB RAMs and an additional 1 TB HDD, and keep this one for the next 2 years, unfortunately, i am in a need for a laptop instead, and that is the major cause i am selling right now.

I'm not in the market for a new computer. I already have the i7 2600k and it's sweet and I paid over 1.2 million at the end of last year with quality parts.

I'm a little skeptical about the 750k price. Even pricing each item with the cheapest price (but please don't buy the 600watt PSU at 27,660!!).

- i7 2600k 335,000
- 8gb ddr3 ram 70,000
- 128gb Samsung 830 SSD (http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ssd-review-benchmark,3139-6.html tops the charts) 206,000
- nvidia gtx 560ti 250,000
- dvd-rw drive 25,000
- windows 7
- 600watt PSU 27,660

Total price = 913,660

Plus add another 20,000 for assembly. And which case?

Both didn't mention the motherboard. There are cheap one and more expensive ones. The motherboard was not priced above either.

Additionally, if you buy the 2600k, you better chuck up another 65,000 for a Zalman.

As far as compatibility problems. I'm pretty sure they run a diagnostic and if something is amiss, I'm sure within 10 days they will replace the part which is faulty. You don't have to buy a brand name.

I didn't check the sound card, but if this is what someone needs, then maybe it increases the value.

Also about the memory of both cards. One is 1GB and the other 1.8GB. I'm not an expert on gfx cards, but this is something to consider. I've read people still can run Premiere Pro on the 260 gtx without a sweat. As far as gaming between the two cards - dunno.
