Below is the pay grid for EPIK teachers which someone was kind enough to bring to my attention on another thread.

Am I reading this correctly? If you have one year of teaching experience with a TEFL cert you get paid the same as someone with a Masters in any discipline and a Bachelor degree in Education?

Also, anyone know what kind of teaching experience is considered? Does a year of substitute teaching in your home country count? How about Hagwon teaching?

Thanks guys.

I have a question, if I get/have a BA in linguistics, do I still need a TESOL certificate.

I'm getting a TESOL certificate offered through my university anyway, but I was wondering if one has a degree say in linguistics or education do they also need the TESOL certificate?

2b) b) OR Bachelor's degree in Education, English Literature, Linguistics, or Writing (e.g. creative writing, critical writing)

No, you'd be at the level 2 payscale.
