Essentially, when I finish up my BA, I'll be around 19. Is that too young to get a job teaching in Korea?
Thanks! |

No, at 19 (or 20 in Korean way of counting) your age won't be a problem.
However, in a society where just being older commands certain respect, you may encounter some trouble convincing high school students that they should be learning from you. |

Thanks :)
I suppose if I ever run into issues getting a job, I can always hold off for awhile and get my master's or something. |

Or don't tell them your age; I never do. I teach university and, at 29, not too much older than the 4th year male students who've done their military service. When I dress casually I'm sometimes confused for a student, which is part of the reason why I wear a sports coat or blazer at work. Somehow that's enough to make everyone think I'm in my mid-30s, which is enough for professional distance purposes. |

I was wondering this too. I'm graduating this December and I'll be 20. I want to teach young children like elementary since I've been rigorously taught in phonetics and phonemic awareness (professor in my linguistics department was trained by Peter Ladefoged) so I think starting students with a good base in English phonetics is always a good thing. |
