I love how the writer referred to the most recent solar minimum as a "relative calm." The Sun has been extremely inactive the past couple of years.

Apparently this was one of those events that, had the press not made it public, nobody would have noticed (which makes me philosophical - is it even possible not to notice something that didn't happen? "If a tree does not fall in the forest, and there's nobody to see it neither fall nor make a sound, does the press still report about it?")
