I just went to the pension office today and found out that I only 15 months of credit instead of 27. Looks like my first employer, a national university, wasn't depositing the pension they deducted from my check.

I have the year-end tax paper from that job showing that there were no pension contributions for that year, nada. I dang sure know it was coming out my check, but I don't have any stubs left to prove it. Wonder where it went?

I sent a letter to the current director informing him of the problem and asking for a response before I file a complaint at the Labor Board.

Anyone got any ideas what I can do? Tanks mon....

Wow, then you can imagine how I felt when I saw that I hadn't been receiving pension for the first 3 1/2years I had been working in Korea and I had been paying into it. And then when I discovered, after many discussions with the pension office that my alien registration card had actually been a new number the last time I had left Korea to get a new visa and I was actually now collecting two pensions on two different numbers, all was right again. All they had to do was combine those funds onto the new registration card. I thought I was going to lose over 6 million won. I can't say with any certainty this is what happened in your case , and if you've been at the same school for the whole time I'm not sure how it could have, but for me at least I knew it was bound to happen sooner or later, changing from school to school to school. Anyway, check it out. I'm sure they're not trying to rip you off. It was a National University for me too where the whole thing got messed up.

I don't know about your university or your situation, but some Universities use a private pension plan instead of the national pension plan. Contact them and ask about it. Perhaps your money is safely tucked away somewhere else. If that's the case, you'd look foolish if you went in all hostile =) Alternatively you mighta been ripped off by some admin guy or something; that would suck. Get in contact with them and ask them =)
