1) Both Korea and California have lots of Koreans living there.
2) Both cultures are very materialistic
3) Plastic surgery is common in both places
4) Outward appearances are very important in both California and Korea
5) Sushi is popular in both places
6) Both places have a large part of the population with no religious beliefs
7) A lot of Asian cars on the road
8)Women whine and pout to get their way and have a huge sense of entitlement. |

Korea reminds me of any country in many ways.
1) Korea like any other country uses the car as it's main vehicle.
2) Korea like any other country has roads and traffic lights
3) Korea like any other country has roughly 30 students per class in a typical public school.
4) Korea like almost any other country has a government system that is some form of democracy, at least on the surface.
5) Korea like any other country has a large media influence
6) Korea like any other country has seasons.
7) Korea like any other country has some form of military.

Korea reminds me of the Moon in many ways.
1. Like the Moon, Korea is almost completely devoid of vegetation.
2. Just as Korea is divided into two countries, one open and free and one closed and secretive, the Moon has a visible side and a dark side invisible to most of the world.
3. In both Korea and on the Moon, some sort of mask or equipment is necessary to breathe.
4. People tend to weigh much less in both places as compared the West.
5. Both Korea and the Moon have been claimed by several countries throughout their histories, while no one claim has ever carried much merit.
6. The number of non-Koreans in Korea is similar to that of the Moon.
Of course, the comparison is not perfect, as the Moon has much better food, and, having no atmosphere, K-pop cannot be blasted through the air at all times. |

I think what you're reminded of is Southern California. A hippie living in Santa Cruz doesn't give a damn about his appearance, he's too busy getting his next fix of pot. |
