I'm halfway through my contract. My boss comes to me and says a I need to to a medical check with piss test. I need an apostilled degree and FBI check. I already have a visa! I've been working 6 months on this contract. (I am one of the people operating on the rule delay on new documents, so I would need all these if I want to renew again).
What is this madness? The Education Ministry sent out a fax, I assume, to all the schools.
Anyone else get hit up with this? Ridiculous! |

You might specify on your thread title that your asking about renewal of contract. Otherwise it looks too much like other threads asking about MOE requiring a second set of docs at the beginning of your first contract. Because that one's been answered.
I'm not sure about renewal. I'm just starting my contract and am hoping that if the MOE is requiring all new docs, that they'll abandon that nonsense by the time I renew. |

They will accept Kimmi made copies of the ones on file at immigration for those on an E2.
Yes, it is a new rule that came into effect at the end of Feb.

Will they accept copies of the documents based on the old rules?
I am still running on a state CBC and a notorized, apostilled copy of diploma, and two sealed transcripts. For this current contract I renewed at the same school and I didn't need to get the federal check or apostilled diploma. This was due to the grace period given by immigration.
It would be quite ridiculous, but not surprising, to start the process of paperwork when I have 6 months left on my contract/visa and no plans to stay for a third year.
Is there a deadline for these documents to be handed in to the MOE? |

Funny thing for me was last year when I got my new docs, immigration never asked me for them. I just gave them to my POE. (But, I am a public school teacher.) Do you know Ttompatz if I just get those docs back from them if I want to transfer to another job? (I hope I don't have to do these again.) |

Also many waygooks had to take a drug test in my town. But only hogwon workers. None of us public had too. |

Even if it's the CBC from the previous year? I know kimmi is fine as long as you haven't been out of the country for more than three months, but I thought the MOE was asking for an actual new check to renew.
You'd be preaching to the choir if you told me that was unnecessary, but I'd heard the MOE didn't get that memo. |

? Drug test is part of the medical exam. And I did the medial exam last time I renewed a public school contract, even though it wasn't technically required for an E-2 renewal. |

Because of the Ministry of Education, my employer keeps bothering me about an HIV/AIDS test after I've told them I'll only submit to a health/drug test since I already had the HIV/AIDS test when I started working there. I don't remember getting any health check when I renewed my visa for a 2nd year.
I told them they can go to Immigration and get copies(like ttompatz says) of whatever they need. They told me I have to go to Immigration to get the copies myself but I won't go alone. Really, do I have to go to Immigration with my employer to get copies?
They've told me EVERYONE, even Korean employees at hagwons have to get the HIV/AIDS test, but they haven't even competed my 2011 taxes yet so I really wonder whether they consider me as an employee? I think I'll tell them if they complete my taxes then I'll consider a blood test but will still probably not agree. Is the Ministry of Education requiring everyone to get HIV/AIDS tests?
Does Immigration still require HIV/AIDS tests?
I'm not letting them take any more blood until maybe if/when I get another visa.

Just gotta say I'm thrilled I have a new contract in another country. If the Ministry keeps screwing me around, they can go piss up a rope. I'll be glad to take a nice long vacation before my new job. |

Immigration told me the rules for the state check would be delayed until 2012, and that is if I want to renew or stay and find a new job. So, I am still here on a state check because I am following their rules and guidelines.
Just got back from the medical check. Why does the ministry of education need to measure my waist? Is that necessary?
Our school was notified of this new rule from the ministry a week or two ago, and we have a week to comply?? Sorry that's not going to happen.
Is there a deadline for this paperwork? What happens if I don't get what they need? Will the ministry cancel my visa? I got 5 months left on this contract- aint no way I'm staying here for another one.
Boss tells me I need my degree apostilled. Now I have to figure out how to do that process.
Raging all day today. |

Ummm, I did not "make a new topic."
I asked a "where" question and you must've thought I asked a "how often" question. Why you'd think that I don't know.
Also, please watch your language, are you drunk posting? You do not know what you're talking about and I'm not your "buddy."
I'm here legally for 9 more months and I wasn't specifically referring to a criminal record check. |
