I'm sorry to ask but the person dealing with my application has proven herself to be incredibly incompetent and is asking me how she's supposed to deal with my application and what I should do at this juncture.
What do I need to do to turn this number into my visa? I'm a UK national based in London applying for an E2. |

That doesn't sound like a trust worthy recruiter. I'll be doing the same thing in a few days. Last year i mailed my passport and the pin number to the Korean Embassy in London, but you can just go in there too. Go online, get the number and ring the embassy, though their English wasn't great when i rang last time. |

It's not a recruiter, I applied directly to the school. She's my new co-teacher (I know, I know. This clearly spells wonderful things for my future.)
So I literally go to the embassy with my passport and my number and they sort it out? That's all? |

There's a list of documents you need under E2. Print out the checklist and the general visa application form, and write your visa issuance number, name, schools address and a phone number, plus your phone number and return address on a separate sheet. If you're posting it, include a stamped address envelope for your passport (with a tracking number, preferably) and a postal order for 80. They ONLY accept postal orders by post, or cash if you go there in person. No cheques.
I haven't got any information on walking in with the application, but call the number on the website and find out. They don't respond to emails at all.
The thing with the embassy is that they won't give you up to date information, but if you get it wrong they will refuse to accept your application. Make sure you have everything right before you go, particularly if you live outside London. |

Good advice from amnsg2 there. As for walking in and leaving your application for processing, it is possible. It doesn't quicken the process up (except takes off the day that it'll take to send your documents via the post). |

Thanks for the info guys. I didn't even think of calling the consulate.
Why has the cost more than doubled in the space of a year?
Most importantly, why are we back to only single entry visas? My visa last year was multiple entry and I didn't have to pay extra for it. |

The price has doubled because it takes a lot of effort to run a visa department specifically dedicated to not helping anyone acquire a visa ever.
I think I'm going to take up calling and asking about visas as a hobby, and see if I can figure out a formula for successfully extracting information from them. |

Yeah, they referred me to the website. The website is not helpful, nor did it answer my questions. I hate them. I forgot about this. |

Btw, is it at all possible for the 5 days processing to be reduced? They said no but I vaguely remember hearing that if your boss got involved it could happen. Is this true? Did I imagine this? |

I certainly haven't seen that written anywhere. 5 working days is their standard. If they're saying no then I think you'll just have to wait. |

I saw it written on this forum but it was posted about 5 years ago and it didn't say how, just that it had happened. |

I'm off to the embassy tomorrow morning. The 80 fee - that's for a single entry visa, right? Anyone know if you can just turn up with the 100 and request a multiple entry visa instead? |

Back from the embassy and in answer to my own question, no you can't. It has to be changed from within Korea. |
