|
|
My SSD recently failed and unfortunately the crucial a/s centre isn't open for another 9 days. As this is my boot drive its obviously a problem. I have several 1tb hard drives in with various data so as a last resort I will install windows again on one of those but my question is is it possible to have a USB flash drive booting up with windows on it. I've just got a 32gb USB 3 drive so was hoping there's a way. Googling it leads to a heap of misunderstanding about having windows on a USB stick and installing from it which isn't what I want. I want to run it from the USB if that is possible. |

Yes you can. You can use USB drive or use external USB drive. Just follow directions on "how to" sites.
There's plenty out there show how to on google. |

Ah sorry lazily skim read your post. Not sure on that one, but I would have thought it possible. Might just be easier to chuck it on a normal hdd. |

Running an OS via USB stick will result in very slow performance.
Unless you have a super high speed USB stick with a eSATA or USB 3.0 connection. |
