I've been given contradictory information. Some say it will work with a korean sim card, some say I will have to spend quite a bit to get an IMEI number first as korean phones are IMEI registered. Can anyone here confirm for me. Will an unlocked iphone work in Korea? Also, I have other 3G phones, will these work there? |

If it is unlocked, which means you had to do it through iTunes and got the message"your iPhone is unlocked". You can throw a sim in for 10 dollars in Korea and away you go. I did it and so did my wife. Don't get jail breaking your phone confused with unlocking |

yup, just googled about the difference. I'm not sure if I should buy an Iphone just so that i can use it in korea..now that iphone 5 can be out in 3-5 months time..
I have another old panosonic GSM phone which is unlocked and works in the US and UK (also mainland Europe), will it work in Korea? |

Well, I'm not absolutely sure, but almost any unlocked 3g phone should work if it supports (3G) 2100MHz network. The difficult part is to find/buy the SIM card. I'll be coming to Korea soon and will try to get a prepaid SIM card for my Nokia e7... but I'm not too optimistic about it.

Iphones are all the same. They have multiple chips in them. The 3gs was definitely sold in Korea so it will work if unlocked. |
