Can I quit/leave my job before the date on my LOR?
If I leave my job before the date on my LOR, can my boss do anything to get me deported/prevent me from starting my new job?

I have given all my docs to my new school to transfer my visa. The date on my LOR is two weeks from now. That's also when I start my new job. Can I just leave tomorrow, or can my current boss screw me over in any way (immigration, etc)?

1 = yes
2 = no

3 = he can prevent your transfer until the date on your LOR and he can, if he is aware of your new employer, make your life miserable.

4 = He can, if you leave early, as your sponsor, file a complaint with immigration that can delay/screw up the transfer but won't eliminate the option of a new visa application (visa runS required).

I'm not sure but I would think that if it's less than two weeks he can't do much. Even if you quit without an LOR, you still have 2 weeks to notify immigration of the change in your status. During that time you have to either leave or switch your visa status. In your case, you're already changing your visa status - to a different sponsor.

Like ttompatz said, if he knows where you're going to work next, he can harass you or try to make problems for you by telling your new boss bad stuff about you (even if it's not true).

Call immigration to see what they say.
