| Hi everyone. My wife and I are getting ready to start looking for a job in Korea. One thing that may be an issue is the fact that her name is different on her degree (it's her maiden name) than it is on the rest of her documents. Is this something that could cause a problem or will she just need to submit a marriage certificate? Thanks for any info. |

| Either way, if you're applying for couples' positions, it wouldn't hurt to send it anyway. |

I would definitely provide proof that she had her name changed, it couldn't hurt at all.
I just applied for an F-4 visa and I had to prove that my mom changed her name when she married my dad to make all the documentation match.
and you could always get a reprinted diploma from her university, I know mine will reprint a diploma for around $50. |

| I had a similar issue because my degree certificate had only one of two middle names and my passport had both. Korean immigration balked at this. Had to get a letter from the school confirming that I was the same person. Korean immigration asked for a new letter every time I wanted to renew or transfer my visa. In the end, I got a new degree certificate from my university for like $40 that has both names. Problem solved. |
