| Just curious as I know they are under a different umbrella from SMOE/EPIK. Will there be positions available as usual for september? Anyone who work there have any info? Cheers! |

You work more but you get paid more.
As far as working conditions, its still the same schools as anywhere in Seoul. As far as Gangnam's hiring practices, they are more strict than EPIK/SMOE. Meaning you'd better put some effort into your resume's and sample lesson plans.
Also, Gangnam is a nice area. EVerything you have is close, albeit expensive. |

To answer the OP's question, yes, they should be hiring for September, but you won't know until summer. They usually post ads here, but since there's a new coordinator, I'm not sure how that's going to work out in the future. I know a few people who are leaving in September as well so that might help. |

| I know that Gangnam Office Board of Education hires teachers separately from SMOE. I think they are the only public schools that will still hire native English teachers for high school positions. They can do this because they are using their own funds, not SMOE's, to pay the teachers. To apply for a position you have to wait for them to post openings. But, as another poster mentioned, it is harder that other SMOE positions. |
