Not exactly sure why, but the above advertisement raises a few cautionary flags in my mind. Conflict of interest issues?

Any thoughts?

I don't see how it is a conflict of interest. The school hires you, not the recruiter. I am sure there are more recruiters not talking to immigration about problems with teachers than there actually are.

My question is, are they really who they say they are?

Any investigative journalists in the house?

it's actually a very bizarre ad -

one would think it would be illegal for any employee of immigration - let alone a section chief - hold any kind of interest, be it investment, advisory, or part time employment - involving the hiring of non-Koreans for anything, teaching or otherwise.

why not send the ad along to the K Times or Ilbo and ask them what they think of it? or better yet, print it out and take it into Seoul Immigration and ask for an interview Laughing

That would not fly in a Western country. Yet it may get by the radar here. Definite conflict of interest.

After some Googling, I found Kwang-Sik Min is the former head of the Seoul immigration office. I'm not sure what he does now. I also Googled Choi Sung-hyu and he also worked for immigration at some point if he doesn't right now.

I doubt this ad is real.

If you have the money and connection you can finance anything. Conflict of interest issues come to the front when a little guy weasels his way through the cracks in a system and gets caught.

Why would they quit there cushy immigration jobs to become recruiters? Why would they go from high pay to something probably much lower?
Thier claims are bogus. It wouldn't make any difference in the recruiting game anyway. What are they going to do? Push strings with immigration to get thier clients in extralegally? Which is what they are obviously emplying Laughing Laughing
