Based on your experience, which bank is better? For their service etc.
Do write down what you think and your experience too!
Thank You! |

Just don't go to Nonghyup. There's a certain time at night where you can't withdraw money (I think). I also heard that sometimes it's hard to transfer money to other banks via the machines. I'm with KB (Gookmin) and haven't got anything negative to say about them. Try and get a popular bank so it's easy for people to find it if they want to send you money. |

Woori.
KEB is second, but Woori is the top. Best card products, best point schemes, best locations - it's #1. KEB is too small, and their English service is highly overrated. For example, I got better English service at a local KEB branch in Suwon than I did at the "Global Center" in Itaewon. Go figure. KEB also has smaller number of branches, and they've recently been bought by Hana, so... will they even be KEB for much longer?
I've banked with Nonghyup, KEB, and Woori - in that order. Still use my KEB account as a backup, but Woori is the best one. |

Can my dad use the bank in Singapore to transfer money to KB if I open an account with them? |

I thought a lot of foreigners will chose KEB. Well, can Woori Bank accept transfer of money from the bank in Singapore? As my dad will be transferring money to me once I open a bank account.

Sure. I've transferred money in and out of my Woori account. Just get the numbers and transfer it. |

Yeah, the one sending the money needs to have the account number and the bank info - swift codes, etc. But again, I've had no trouble with sending money from Woori to the US, and I've had money from my US account sent to here. Just gave them the numbers, swift code, account, and the address - same as the stuff you give here - and away it went. |

I am not sure if you know.. To transfer money overseas, customers can go down to the bank personally, right? Instead of ibanking.. |

Are you high? Or an invalid or something? Reading your last few posts, your grammar is spotty and your mind seems.... off.
Yes, I know you can do it in person. In fact, I usually DO send my money out of the country in person. The branch is in the same building as my office, the clerks are friendly, it's easy. Sending money TO Korea I do it electronically as I can't physically go into an American bank whilst in Korea.
I don't know what you're trolling for, but long story short, you can transfer money with Woori bank. You can do it in person, and you can do it at a computer. As for doing the reverse, I can tell you that MY bank in the US allows me to transfer money IN electronically, and in person, but as far as your bank is concerned, you'd have to talk with them.
But Woori has no trouble with giving OR receiving.
Can't say it any plainer than that. |

I don't know anything about the others, but I use Woori and they've been great. Easy transfers, excellent service, always people there who speak good English, plenty of locations. I've never had a problem with them. |

I have Nonghyup and am happy. You can withdraw money anytime. There was just one day, recently, that they had a service outage (which they announced way ahead of time) from Midnight - 5 AM to update their systems.
My card has worked in every other bank's ATM or at any cash machine outside any convenience store that I've tried.
Online banking always works and I can also transfer money from the ATM to the States.
My only "complaint" is that I can't transfer to Wells Fargo online (but every other major US bank, oddly), but again - I can just do that at the ATM. |

Oh, and that being said, I have friends with accounts at KB and they have weird problems, too, like not being able to use their check card anywhere but an ATM...
So, all in all, I think every Korean bank has their weird allotment of random problems here and there. |
