Just curious - I've taught at public school before but I never really knew how long high school students go to hagwons. By this I mean when do they finish their high school tests in terms of the final ones that decide if and where they're going to go to university.

I heard that these finish by early December - is that true? I recall high school students being very free at some late time in the school year.

I had a group of third graders every afternoon during January, I think up until mid February. They'd all been accepted into university and were practicing English before they went. I'm not sure how long they'd been off school, but they were a rare sighting of 'the Korean high school student' I'd heard so much about. They went off to uni in the March.
