I am looking to change my E-2 to D-10 after my contract ends, take a month or so to travel, and then transfer my D-10 to an E-2. But based on how long it takes to get the new ARC Im worried it would cut into my travel time, and I wouldnt be able to book anything ahead of time. Here is my situation, my contract ends June 29th, my visa expires July 8th, and my ARC expires July 22nd. The goal was to travel around Asia the first few weeks of July. If I left for travel and came back say on the 20th and then applied for the D-10 would that be okay? Or not because my Visa would have expired? Or could I apply for the new ARC/D-10 and then leave and come back and get the new ARC? But would that even work because my Visa would have expired and I would have left the country?
Basically, if you are informed on this stuff, what would you do?
