I'm interested in applying for Fall 2011 university positions, and I just realized that these crazy FBI background checks are required.
Do all universities want copies of this with the application package?
Won't it be expensive to send out a bunch of apostilled records to each school that I am interested in?
I was hoping that the official stuff would be required a bit later in the hiring process. |

You mean... fall 2012?
I'm not sure about needing to send things to every application, but I would highly doubt it. For hagwon and public school hires, we only have to send our stuff for the contract we accept, so I doubt it would be different... Probably just scanned copies would suffice.
As for the FBI background check... last I heard, they took at least 3 months to process from the day the FBI received them... so yes, starting earlier would be better...
Also, you're taken more seriously by recruiters if you already have your paperwork...
Good luck! |
