Hello all,
I am a registered foreigner in Korea (F6), but have been overseas for several months. During this time, my father in law (my registered address) has moved. I haven't been able to report this change within 14 days because I haven't been in the country.
When I go back in March, will I have any trouble reporting the change? Or is my excuse not good enough?
To my knowledge, there doesn't seem to be a way to do this remotely.
Any advice is appreciated!
Thanks again...[/quote] |

report is not required if you are out of the country.
Update your file within 90 days of your return and you are fine.
You can do it at the GU office and don't have to make a special trip to immigration unless they are more convenient for you.
Just be aware that you must return before your ARC expires or before the 2nd anniversary of your departure or your F6 will be lost.

Thanks for your reply. Does the same apply for passports if I renew it while I'm out?
Thanks again... |

Usually, yes.
Your ARC governs your status of sojourn, right to enter and re-enter and right of residence.
There is nothing in your actual passport with any validity but you may want to take your old passport with you to get by the airline check-in counters.
