Any anglers out there?

After watching a few episodes of River Monsters I was reminded of how I used to enjoy pulling out a few fish myself.

What's the deal with fishing in Korea - is a license needed? What are the seasons? Any recommended spots without straying too far out of Seoul?

No licence needed. Fishing season is 24/7/365+1.

Oh that's good to know. And no, I won't be eating them.

Anyone know any good places to fish?

Hey,
I do a bit of fishing in the summer. The best - by which I mean peaceful, sandy banks/no concrete or cyclists/walkers etc is on the north side of Gayang bridge, heading west. I tend to use method feeders as large as my crappy rods will allow and catch mostly catch a fish called Nul-chi - a cross between a carp and a barbel. Also, around that area is a day-ticket fishing pond where you can catch mini carp and goldfish each cast, but it's pole fishing only and when I went there they lent me a pole as I only have rods/reels.
Hit me up with a PM if you fancy a dangle sometime...
