saw one at the Seoul Folk Flea Market, Sinseol-Dong station
(2nd floor)

there could be one at the International market in Itaewon - right by What The Book

Namdaemun Market (Hoehyeon station) - there's an underground market that sells pharmacy stuff - they might have it there as well

For a pepto bisol replacement I usually use Gelfus from any Korean pharmacy. Does the same job.

The active ingredient in Peptol Bismol is Bismuth. Bismuth is harmless and the only side effect can be a black tongue and black turds. The active ingredient in Gelfos is some kind of Aluminium. We all know what Aluminum does to a person in the long run. Whats my name? Who are you? Where am I?

Specifically the ingredient in Pepto is "bismuth subsalicylate". Important because there are other Bismuths that have other uses. One of them is to treat ulcers.

I searched the drug info site and found this as the only entry:
http://www.druginfo.co.kr/detail/product.aspx?pid=49380

"헬리박정(차살리실산비스마스) HELIBAC TAB. [Bismuth subsalicylate 262mg]"

You might try asking a pharmacy for that if you specifically want Pepto.

There is also Bismuth Carbonate
http://www.druginfo.co.kr/detail/product.aspx?pid=450

"화인겔현탁액 AECID SUSP.[Aluminum hydroxide gel , Bismuth Carbonate , Magnesium silicate gel]"

I think I have some of that, but I don't think I've tried it.

How about this stuff?

Korean Pepto Bismol

The site just says it is a Korean Pepto Bismol, but as was pointed out above, the active ingredients might not be the same.

I appreciate any insight

The main ingredient is:
Dioctahedral smectite

which is only for diarrhea, not the full list of things pepto takes care of.

On a similar note - anyone here ever seen Alka Seltzer? I used to be able to buy it at a certain retailer of food products in Itaweon but they either never carry it or I need better connections!!
