Found Doritos at my local super. Not imported ones from the US. They have Cheese and Barbecue flavor. Didn't have cool ranch though.

Yes this deserves its own thread.

Those "Nacho" chips, if they are the ones I'm thinking about, used to be sold in a bag that was identical to a Doritos bag (can't remember if they were called Doritos, too). Doritos produced for the local market? I wouldn't be surprised. After all, they have Cheetos here (don't bother, you won't like it. Stick with Nachos).

Find what? Whatever your response is, the answer is likely Itaewon. It's the only area without a minutia of flavor and variety.

Nobody is going to think I look like a psycho if I spend an hour taking a bus to Itaewon just to buy 7 bags of Doritos right?

Right?

They automatically view you as an HIV spreading, Korean bloodline killing, English Dorito shilling merchant vagabond, anyway. What does it matter if you have 7 bags of Doritos with you? It's worth the trip. Crispy and flavorful.

I think the whole point of this thread is that you don't need to go to Itaewon anymore.

Lotte is now manufacturing Doritos in Korea under license from Frito-Lay. Lotte also produces other Frito-Lay brands in Korea (Cheetos, Sun Chips, etc). In time you'll see these in convenience stores all over the country, and they won't cost an arm and a leg like the imported ones in Itaewon.

I haven't looked for Doritos in Korea for a couple of years, but I know they used to be easy to find almost anywhere in Seoul. They didn't taste anything like the NA version--maybe they stopped making them for a while? Perhaps a renegotiation in the merchandising and production agreement?
