5 more days until North Korea does something that they say they will do.

In this case, the supposed satellite will be launch on April 15th, 2012. I'm extremely curious as to whether they will do it or not, and what responses South Korea, Japan, China, and the USA will have if they do.

South Korea says they will take "countermeasures" and are concerned with recent hints at further underground radioactive tests they feel will be done within days or months of the launch.

Japan has said that it will shoot down the missile if it feels it is a danger to them, and has set up defense lookouts in Tokyo and Okinawa

The US says it is a grave act that goes against their recent deals for aid in exchange for no more tests or provocations, and all will likely end food aid if North Korea proceeds.

Isn't their story that they are launching a satellite to observe the land for farming or something like that? There are dozens of satellites already in orbit, with far more advanced imaging technology than anything North Korea could come up with, and a lot of the imagery is public. You can get imagery of any place in the world, including North Korea, for free on the internet. If the North Korean regime wants to study the farmland or something, there's no reason to send up your own satellite; all they have to do is get on Google Earth. It's a laughably flimsy excuse. If there is a satellite, it's either got some more nefarious purpose or is just an excuse to test-fire a rocket.

They say that it will be a weather satellite, but no one believes that to be the case~
