카마라타 뮤직 컴퍼니 � 멘델스존의 �엘리야� 콘서트

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA �Camarata Music Company Chorale and Orchestra to perform Mendelssohn�s dramatic oratorio, �Elijah� on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 7:30pm, at Chungdong First Methodist Church (34-3 Jeong-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul (City Hall Station)).

서울, 대한민국 � 카마라타 뮤직 컴퍼니의 합창단과 오케스트라가 연주하는 멘델스존의 드라마틱한 오라토리오 �엘리야�가 5월 5일, 토요일, 저녁7시 30분 �정동제일감리교회�에서 열린다 (34-3 정동, 중구 (시청역)).


Under the direction of Ryan Goessl(라이언 게슬), the CMC Chorale & Orchestra will be joined by soloists, Soprano MyungSung Han (한명성), Alto Allison Pozdol (엘리슨 포즈돌), Tenor SeungGakRyu (류승각), Bass SeungSeungWook (성승욱), with Soprano Rachel Tibai (레이첼 티바이) and Boy Soprano JaeWon Choi (최재원).

CMC 합창단은 라이언 게슬의 지휘아래, 소프라노 한명성, 알토 엘리슨 포즈돌 (Allison Pozdol), 테너 류승각, 베이스 성승욱, 소프라노 레이첼 티바이 (Rachel Tibai), 보이 소프라노 최재원과 함께 한다.


�Elijah� marks the tenth production in CMC�s regular concert series.

이번 �엘리야� 공연은 CMC의 10번재 정기공연이다.


The story of Elijah is told in the books of 1 Kings and 2 Kings in the Old Testament. Israel has turned from God, and a continuing drought threatens the nation. God sends the prophet Elijah to turn the hearts of the people back toward God and restore the land. The drama of the story, plus Mendelssohn�s beautiful music has earned �Elijah� a place as one of the most popular oratorios ever composed.

오라토리오 �엘리야�는 구약성경의 열왕기상과 열왕기하에 등장하는 선지자 엘리야의 이야기이다. 이스라엘이 하나님을 떠난 뒤 계속되는 가뭄으로 나라 전체가 고통받을 때, 하나님은 그들의 마음을 하나님께로 돌리고 이스라엘을 회복시키기 위해 선지자 엘리야를 보낸다. 이야기의 극적인 구성에 멘델스존의 아름다운 음악이 더해진 �엘리야�는 많은 오라토리오 중에서도 특히 사랑받고 있다.

A portion of concert precedes go toward establishing a music program in local orphanages and low-income areas, and establishing a performing arts program for multi-cultural children.

공연 수익금의 일부는 서울 내 고아원과 저소득 가정 아이들을 위한 음악 프로그램, 그리고 다문화 가정 아이들을 위한 공연 프로그램 등의 발전을 위해 쓰여진다.
