I went into a little supermarket one time ahead of some housecleaning. I put three bottles of beer & a bottle of bleach on the counter. The owner went to some lengths explaining that bleach wasnt meant for drinking. |

i think maybe he was saying that doritos didn't go well as a sidedish.
maybe something salty with protein, like dried cuttlefish or salt peanuts would mix in better.
nothing about health or trading up. |

Koreans usually don't eat chips as anju. He probably wanted you to something more traditional, like cup ramyeon, nuts, ojingo, etc. |

Well, hopefully you spared the people by you Dorito breath and cheese residue.
Personally, I find Doritos one of the nastiest foods on Earth, with no redeeming qualities.
I have to say, some of the anju I really enjoy. Fresh fruit is great, although raw fresh vegetable trays would be better. Nuts, seaweed, and beef jerky are fine in small doses, preferably as low in salt as possible.
Now I get that someone is drinking and its not the peak of health, and there's a time and place for nachos, buffalo wings, and chicken tenders, but its nice to have the option if you're only having a beer or two.
Calorie-wise that kind of anju is penny wise and pound foolish, but I can't argue with how I feel at the end of the night and the next day eating fruit or vegetables with booze vs. eating fries or nachos or other crap like that. |
