Strange there's an iPhone sticky on this forum...suggesting that lot's of people are interested in iPhones......but no one has bothered to answer this pretty straightforward iPhone question for 6 days.

Sorry man, I'm an Android user. Can't help you.

<mod edit>

Anyway, the OP didn't mention where he lived so my shop may be geographically undesirable for him. I'm assuming he lives in the center of Seoul like everyone but me.

IPhone Repair Shop near Haeundae. Dongbaek Station exit 1. Building is across from Home Plus. Sun Plaza, 8th floor, 809. Cell: 010-8230-7793

There is a branch of iPhone Korea straight out of Nowon station, exit 9. IPhone Korea is the largest chain of unofficial apple repair companies in SK and has the most competitive prices.

The nowon owner/worker speaks English and there is a dedicated English telephone number and website (which has a map, lists repair fees, etc).

You say a branch. Where can one find the other locations? that website seems specific for the nowon branch. Is there a general website for the company?

Sure, if you don't need reliable English service and/or nowon is too far away, you can check out the info for their other 18 locations across Korea listed on the company's main website.

Or if your with KTF you can go with their official AS center for iphones which is called Ubase. There is one near Jongak near the Young Poong Book store (영풍문고) right next to Tomatillo. It's on the second floor. For other locations I would suggest going to which ever cell phone provider you have and they will direct you to where it's at. I cracked the back of my phone once and had to take it in there.

I thought I'd mention I was in a hurry the other day so I just went there to get a new home button. Mine's been shot for a few months.
about 15 minutes and now it works great. Guy spoke pretty good English but he really needs to put something on the walls, it's like he's in some kind of little white apple pod.

What did it cost to get the home button repaired? Mine is working, but annoying as can be.

35,000 total. Parts and labour.
it's generally not the button that needs replaced but the cable itself. You can see all the prices on his site.

Hi,
Does anybody know where the AS center for iPhones is located in yongsan?
What floor is it located at?

Thanks - tried searching but couldn't find!

OH dear!!

So, I found the AS Center at Yongsan. It's on the 8th floor in the corner towards the front of the building- Ubase..

Now, though I am not a happy customer..
Basically the sleep button (at top) is broken.
It doesn't work and I was hoping to get the button replaced or fixed.
This problem started yesterday and is really annoying because I cant put the phone to sleep when I want so the light remains on for a good while before switching off- eating up my battery and also causing me to call random people when my phone is in my pocket or music changing etc..

They told me they cant fix it. My only solution there was to replace the entire phone at a cost of 199,000
Added to this yesterday, I just bought a simple new cable for 26,000 at frisbee in myeong dong because my charger stopped working. 26,000- i was shocked enough at that!
I dont really want to pay the 199,000 as I think its a pure rip off.
The phone is an Iphone 4.

Anyway, it seems the only good solution is to jailbreak the phone and download an app called Quicklock 2..
It seems really complicated to this but I guess it's my only option..
This APP would make it possible to put the phone to sleep when I want.

Anybody have any advice..

I read this week that APPLE will become the first trillion dollar company and I'm thinking a major part of their success is their ability to create products that need constant maintenance and service which is really expensive...

Is the jailbreak however I manage that and getting the Quicklock the only sensible way to go?

Regards

actually did u mean the big yongsan building with emart and yongsan stn?

in need of the a/s centre myself for my ipad whose screen is coming a little loosened and clicks on one edge when i press down (i think from constant playing of pinball !)

in terms of jailbreakin...it all depend what ios version u got. if u got ios 5.1 then u cant do (for now) best guestimates for when jailbreak might appear sound about a month away. check in your generel settings..about. see what version it is.
