[SMOE NSET]

I will be upgrading to a new camera soon and was wanting others opinions on the matter.

A) Canon EOS 5D Mark III
B) Canon EOS 5D Mark II
C) Nikon D800
D) other

The camera will be mostly used for weddings, portraits, and landscapes. It will be used for sports a little but not as important. It will be used in low-light locations though (weddings/parties) so it needs to be able to take those shots.

Any expert advice before I make the big upgrade? (coming from a Canon Rebel)

The D800 has a significantly higher MP ratio... which, isn't everything, but it does seem to result in significantly sharper images with the D800. This would mean you'd need to have some relatively large memory cards to compensate for the large file sizes of each picture though... maybe around 70-80 MP each, depending.

So... you planning on selling your old camera anytime soon...?

What lenses do you currenty have or are you looking at buying some new glass? Also, what's your budget?

Ended up buying the 5D Mark III with the Canon 24-70mm F/2.8 EF lens.

Final price 5,400,000W with an extra battery. Had a memory card but might buy another one.
