I wanted to go to a tropical island this summer, but being pregnant I can't fly. So we chose Okinawa by boat, but then decided it was probably too expensive.
So looks like the summer break will be in-country no massages, no coral, no bamboo hut on the beach, no fruit shakes.
I am now looking for a nice quiet place approximating the above, where I can swim most of the day quite near my cheap accomodation. We will go by car.
I'm thinking of that waterfall on JejuDo that falls into the ocean. That without the crowds would be lovely.
I have been to the same island 4 times (DoChoDo - off Mokpo), and it is great, only there isn't really anywhere good to eat there. I suppose the range of restaurants comes with the crowds...I'd take the bad food in exchange for some peace and quiet.
hope you have some suggestions. |

Jeju is great, but take the ferry to Udo, its magic. It's only a 20 minute ride from Jeju. |

Any of the coastal areas are pretty nice, if you come up to Samcheok, Donghae, Gangnueng, Sokcho area there are tons of great beaches, caves and if seafood is your idea of good food, Gangnueng has some of the best sashimi and seafood restuarants in Korea.
Have a great holiday |

It is an awesome sight but you can't really swim there as it is way to rocky and there are a lot of people there in the summer season.
I second Udo which is off the Seongsan township(on the east coast of Jeju), it is fantastic, almost hard to believe that the place exist in Korea. Give it 10 years and they'll have stuffed it up. |
