Depends on where you live.
It's been hot, with that humidity, so it's already been on at my place. |

| Whenever it feels hot. I don't sit around waiting until the last possible day. If I'm not comfortable, I turn it on. |

| I try to use mine as little as possible, and since it's almost always placed somewhere I never am (right now it's in the kitchen...), I just use a fan and open windows~~ That may change as it gets hotter, but for now... saving that money ^.^ |

| Usually the first week of June. I turn it on whenever it gets muggy, which is during mid to late afternoon these days. |

Anytime the outside temperature rises above 22 degrees centigrade. And with Korea's usual humidity, that rises above "hot" into the level of "disgusting." I don't care if that happens to be January.
But I like my ambient air colder and dryer than most people. 18 centigrade and 15-25% humidity is perfect for me |

I'll try to leave it off at least until July (using a fan until the humidity becomes unbearable and I glide off my leather couch) and have it off bye early to mid September at the latest.
In $$ it's almost negligible compared to the gas bills in Winter; say 2x50,000 for electricity compared to 5x200,000 for gas. |

| I remember back in my home state we got 20 inches of snow in early March then by the end of the month it was in the 90's F/ high 30's C. We went straight from winter to summer, it was horrible. No spring. It was in the mid 90's for six straight days in late March just a few weeks after almost two feet of snow. Our electric bill was huge. We used the air-conditioning in March. |

| Depends on the year. Have turned it on in late April on some years. Think this year, maybe the middle of May. I don't usually keep it at 18 however. Gets too cold. I usually like 22 to 24 depending on the weather outside. I prob have it off by mid to late September depending on the year. |

Indeed. People are acting like you have to pull the aircon out of storage, spend hours setting it up, and then can only afford to run it for an hour at a time.
It's hot. My aircon is on.
It's comfortable. My aircon is off. |

Since Korea has 4 seasons - well, maybe 6 or 7 (yellow dust, monsoon, typhoon, extreme cold before spring), each year could be variable on how hot or cold it gets.
Depends on where you live. Seoul and another few places around Korea can get extreme - Daegu, Gwangju, Hapcheon, etc.
Just turn it on when you can't tolerate the heat.
I live down by Busan and it's quite temperate. I had it on only once so far last weekend when it got over 27C.
A good idea to save on your electric usage, especially if you are not working in the hot afternoon, would be to go to gym for a few hours, a library, coffee shop, etc. You'll see a lot of elderly in subway stations and parks, other public areas, doing the same.
Heck, some families will even sleep outside in a public park on a warm night. We couldn't do this where we are from. |
