Could anyone tell me if these films will be playing in Korea? The U.S. opening date for Moonrise Kingdom (the latest Wes Anderson film) is May 25, and To Rome With Love (the latest Woody Allen film) opens in the U.S. June 22. I have no idea how to check and see where/when or even if these films are playing in Korea. I have a feeling that these films might not even make it over here, but I would be thrilled to be wrong.
I am currently living in Gwangju. I have no problem traveling up to Seoul or anywhere else in the country to see these films (especially Moonrise Kingdom). I don't understand a word of Korean, so I can't search the internet myself. Any info anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much! |

Could someone else please give me any helpful advice? I would like to see them in the theatre. Is there some kind of Seoul cultural website that lists upcoming international films or something? Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks. |

Um, the cinemateque in insadong usually shows foriegn, higher brow and indie type movies, as does the cinema at gwanghwhamun, which if I remember, is called 'cinema cube.'
The first usually have Eng subs if it's a non english language movie but the lattrer usually does not.
They are your best bets in Seoul for seeing the movies you mentioned at a cinema. |

Thank you, I really appreciate the leads. Those would seem to be the best bet. I highly doubt they would come to any regular theatre, especially in this blockbuster-laden summer.
I did some Google-Fu and found the websites for those two theatres:
http://www.icinecube.com/
http://www.cinematheque.seoul.kr/
They are both in Korean and I have no hope of reading them at all, so I will ask some Korean friends here if they could navigate them and find any info and possibly call and ask them directly. In the meantime, if any of you reading this just happen to find out anything more, I will still be checking this thread, and I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks! |
