Dave seems pretty interesting but this guy running the interview is putting me to sleep.

Perhaps he's going for that 'Reservoir Dogs style?'

Listened to a few minutes and then it started buffering at 58:00 and wouldn't play anymore.

It's nice to know Dave is real and not some mythical figure after all. Doesn't sound very concerned about the content of the site that's made him so famous, does he? If you were the editor in chief of a magazine or newspaper, wouldn't you read your own publication and do something about the overall quality of the submissions? Rolling Eyes

Yes, the owners of the NYT and other publications have a lot of money too but at least there's some semblance of quality control. I can't believe Dave, sitting back in his mansion in Thailand watching the money roll in and leaving the business up to --- Question

Yes, but why should he?

He's never lived or worked here, he taught in Japan and Thailand. Korea just turned out to be the most active market for his site.

This ain't the New York Times, sheit, it ain't the Korea Times. I'd do the same: let it roll in, take life easy, and invest my money elsewhere.

Maybe I missed it, as I wasn't paying very close attention when I listened to it the other day; but that guy spent two years in Korea reading this damn site, and still didn't ask him to fix the search button? Unacceptable.

How much do you reckon he makes?

I have a tech savvy friend who wiki'd it or something, or there is some tech site that rates profitability of websites based on flow, ads, etc.

Not trying to flame, I hope the mods are okay with the question. I really am just curious, and all power to him if he's making good dime off it!

Dave keeps in touch with the moderators and he does manually approve each member - so while he may not post here, he does have a foot in the door.

I liked the part when the interviewer stated that all ESL teachers were a little "off " , and then Dave - laughingly- agrees.
