Yeongtong - 2 blocks behind Home-plus there is the Samsung Women's Hospital. A couple of doctors there speak decent English and all of them speak basic English. The desk staff speak no English.

Bundang, Seohyun station (catch one of the 720 series buses from Suji to seohyun station), the Cheil Womans hospital (kitty corner from the big hospital) also has a couple of ob-gyns who speak English. We delivered our daughter there. One of the desk ladies is also fluent.

Have a Korean friend call the biggest hospital in town and ask if there's a doctor who speaks English. Then make an appointment with that doctor.

I don't have a reply to the last post but the Severance Hospital near Yonsei in Seoul is where Koreans say all the foreigners go.

Pretty far from Suwon, though. Once again, ttompatz has the answers.

If you walk in to the desk (upstairs) they will find the English speaking doctor for you (call her in if necessary). There were 2 or 3 on staff when we were there (we switched to the Cheil Woman's hospital in Bundang when we moved to Seohyun).

My wife doesn't remember the doctor's names from Yeongtong.

They are pretty used to having foreigners in there though (lots of foreigners in Yeongtong).

I go to Dr. Sung in Hannam, Seoul. She and all of the nurses speak English. You'll see tons of foreigners there, including a good handful of army girls.

You can find the address here:

I go to Esther Obstetrics and Gynecology. The clinic's website is http://estherobgy.com. It is in Suji-gu, Yongin, by Jukjeon Station (opposite the Emart and diagonally across from Sinsegae).

There are two doctors working there, both of whom are women. The one I see is Dr. Song.

I saw her for all my pre-natal care and delivered my baby there. The nurses don't speak much English, but Dr. Song does.

Good luck! Smile

Medi Flower clinic in Seocho-gu (near Korea National University Station), are great. I went in for a consultation about getting an IUD, I've had paps and ultrasounds there - I see Dr. Park and her English is excellent. She also understood and respected my opinions and concerns about my body and reproductive choices more than many doctors I've seen both here and in the west. The nurses all speak adequate English and they even have a special receptionist just for dealling with English speakers - her English is perfect and she's really nice.

All in all they made me feel very comfortable, informed, safe and well taken care of. They are a tad expensive (though I'm Canadian so paying for it at all seems expensive frankly!) but on the whole I'd definitely recommend them.

Hi Alice,

If you get this message, can you PM me? I want to know about your birth experience at Esther Clinic. This is my first post, so I don't have enough posts to PM you!

Thank you!
Jill
