Good production value. Better than some of the other samurai documentaries I've seen.

Some slight details aren't entirely accurate though. Like Kendo wasn't practiced during that time.

Is the doc supposed to be a series but cut up and put together into one video? It seems to jump forward a lot. It went from the first Portuguese landing all the way to Sekigahara without even mentioning the invasion of Chosun?

Since the invasions, were essentially failures ( especially the 2nd ), they were only another log on the fire in the struggle between the various clans in their quest for power.

That said, I consider having watched that video time well spent. But then history is my passion.

"Even though Toyotomi Hideyoshi unified Japan and consolidated his power following the Siege of Odawara in 1590, his failures in his invasions of Korea significantly weakened the Toyotomi clan's power as well as the loyalists and bureaucrats that continued to serve and support the Toyotomi clan after Hideyoshi's death". ( quoted from the Wikipedia notation on Sekigahara )
