Hey! A while back I stumbled onto a thread on here about saving money, and now I can't find it (I've tried several different types of searches). There was a really financial savvy poster who gave tons of advice and suggested readings on how to invest money...

Anyone know where it is or have a link? |

				| Just remember, no one's going to come on here and post about how they lost money investing. I started a thread asking people for their experiences of that a while ago out of curiosity but got 0 response. |

Lost about 5,000 USD between 2010 and 2011 while the market was going up! To add insult to injury just got a letter from IRS saying I was being audited because I didnt add it to my tax return for 2010 and therefore had no cost basis. That means in their eyes when I sold stock/funds for a total of 150,000, over the course of a year, it looked like I made 150,000 and not the 5,000 that I actually lost. |

				| I thought this was going to be another thread on how to avoid spending any of your salary. We haven't had one of those in quite a while. I always love reading about what extreme measures people will take to avoid spending a single penny. |

no, not trying to live at a bare bones minimum I like to have a good time. But I do want to save while I'm here and I know there are more effective ways than just leaving my money in a savings account. : ) |
