|
|
Most of my students are adults, but for my first class I've got 3 elementary kids. I give them homework every day, which is usually sentences for them to write in their notebook. I make the sentences up, based on whatever we're studying at the time. I usually use the kids' names, as well as a few names of characters they're familiar with (e.g. Hello Kitty, Doraemon, Rilakkuma, Spiderman, etc.) but I don't know that many names.
So I'm looking for a few more names that they'd probably be familiar with to use in their homework to add a bit of variety.
Thanks |

My students like Ironman and Jjanggu (who you might know as "Shin-chan" or "Crayon Shin-chan")...
Also, they love Pokemon (here's a list of characters with Korean names: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_characters_in_other_languages) (Ash is Ji-woo (지우),Misty is Iseul (이슬), Brock is Ung (웅), and Pikachu is the same)and Yu-Gi-Oh (Yoo-Hi-Won in Korean)
Good luck ^.^ |

I don't trust the cheap knockoffs of American superheroes... I honestly had a student wear a shirt that said "Butman" on the back, complete with winged logo.
There's also:
Pororo
Spongebob
Tom & Jerry |

Right now I've noticed that Angry Birds are popular.
The younger ones like Robocar Poli (the police car/helicopter/ambulance/fire truck transformers), Thomas the Tank Engine, Pororo.
Girls always like the Disney Princesses.
There's also Spongebob, Jjangu, Doraemon. |

Thanks for the replies, everyone.
I actually used Batman once, but none of them knew who he was. One of the boys likes the dragon (I think it's a dragon) from Pikachu, so thanks for the Korean names, soomin. |

Hmm... Pikachu is the main pokemon, it's an electric mouse, but looks like a bunny... it looks like this: http://pikachuonline.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/pikachu.gif
Pokemon dragon? There're a ton... maybe Charizard? You can always ask your student who it is ^.^ |

The Simpsons still seems to be fairly popular with a lot of them. |

They know superheroes from the movies but not really in cartoon form. They know more childish ones, like:
Spongbob
Jjang gu
Pororo
Simpsons
Hello Kitty
etc |
