|
|
I'm looking at buying a rain jacket and possibly a few other things online from a US or Canadian company and I'm wondering at what price Korean Customs starts applying duties. I thought I read somewhere on here that's it's usually at 150,000won, but I can't remember. Also, is the customs duty applied to the raw cost of the item itself, or do they look at the total cost (i.e. product + taxes + shipping)? I'd just prefer to not go over the threshold and get an unexpected tax bill from them.
Thanks |

| Items over $120 US (150,000W) are subject to custom fees. I believe it can be taxed up to 18% of the declared cost + shipping, depending on the items and the custom agent dealing with it. |

Some companies are aware of the extra duty charges and therefore will fudge the numbers on the reciept taped to the box being shipped.
There's one inparticular that I always ordered from. They were great for that. I'll PM you the name of the company. |

Wow! This is good to know! Usually if you buy from EBay or something, they'll mark it as a gift and no customs~ ^.^ |
