I am currently living in Sangbong(soon to move to Jeju). I am in the process of getting my documents together for my next job. I have downloaded the document from the AFP to request a CBC, my question is relating to the fingerprinting. Last year I was able to use the FBI fingerprint document, get fingerprinted in Korea and then send it home for the CBC. Does anybody know if the new FBI document will be accepted by the Australian Federal police? or any other helpful advice?

Pretty sure you don't need fingerprints, just the Federal CRC and apostille.

This page has a good, recent (14 Feb '12) breakdown of the steps for Australians:

By the way - did the AFP site give you an option to get it sent to an apostille agent automatically, or will they send it to you first?

Winter,

I am actually going to get in all done whilst I am home between jobs. I think for EPIK it needs to have your fingerprints checked. At least we don't need things to be notarized.

I am also updating docs from home, which makes things easier.

I'm still not convinced that Australians need to get fingerprinting done. Can't hurt, and better safe than sorry, but it is extra time and expense. I'm pretty sure that is a FBI/RMCP requirement. Anyway, let us know if you find out.

Yes, no notarsation for the CRC, just apostilled. Did you see that the copy of your degree needs to be notarised, then apostilled?

AFP CRC request form offers this advice:

Quote:
Please note that a fingerprint check is only required under very limited circumstances. Please ensure that you are actually required to have a fingerprint check conducted before going to the expense of this level of check by checking with the organisation/department requesting the check.
