Hi all,

I just got my visa issuance number.. Do I need to actually go to consulate to get Visa? I looked on their web-site but there is no mention of what papers I need to get an E-7. Plus my daughter is going over as a dependent.. does she need to travel to consulate with me, or can I just take her paperwork and passport. Thank u, B

You can do it in person or by mail.
Same with your daughter.

papers:
application
fees
photo
visa confirmation number
proof of family relationship (birth certificate listing you as the parent) and they may ask for consent (letter of permission) from the non-custodial parent (if applicable).

Additional documentation for an E7 may vary from consulate to consulate and the specifics of your visa application.

Adoption papers... something to prove the family relationship or she won't qualify for/get a visa.

Get a certified true copy (or 2) made as well. You WILL need it when you travel for other visas, etc.

adopted child...

it is not relevant since the custodial parent is not the birth parent and is not on the birth certificate.

Proof of custody / guardianship would be a court order or the adoption papers along with any change of name documentation (if there was indeed a change of name).
