I heard rumors that someone died at a Cinco de Mayo party at Cheongpyeong Lake a couple of weeks ago, possibly on the bungee jump. Or, the person might have died after the party. The details I have are sketchy at best and based on hearsay.
Does anyone here know what happened? I'm really concerned about this because I was thinking of going to River Land (a bungee jump and water sports place on the lake) in early July, and I'm worried that it's not safe! |

You mention bungee jumping, not once but twice, and you're talking safety?
Then you mention may have died after the party. Korea doesn't have crocodiles, so the lake is probably safe enough if you can swim. But bungee jumping and excessive partying might not be all that good for you. Just sayin' |

OK, let me re-phrase my question: Did someone die at Cheongpyeong Lake two weeks ago, and if so, did he die bungee jumping or doing water sports, or did he just party too hard? Partying too hard happens everywhere and is usually the fault of the individual doing the partying, but if people are getting killed at Cheongpyeong Lake on the bungee jump or banana boat, etc., I want to know about it so I don't do those activities at that lake. Thanks!
(and FYI, bungee jumping accidents are very rare at legit facilities!) |

The banana boat is relatively safe, but I watched somebody die on the fly fish (not at Cheongpyeong) last summer, so you might wanna give that one a miss, especially if it's at all breezy. |

Always, always check your safety gear before participating in any of these sports. Be smart and live. |
