Koreans don't seem to have much interest in lamb. I buy it at the Foreigners' Food Market in Itaewon. Just wondering if anyone knows of anywhere else it can be purchased in the Seoul area.

PS. Some south Asian customer I was talking with in the Foreigners' Food Market did mention a place that he said was good for lamb called 마 장 동 시 장. Anybody know anything about that place? (including where it is)

Also in Itaewon, but High Street Market has legs of lamb.

I'm almost positive you could find it in Ansan if you want to make the trek, but that could be a serious haul, depending on where you live in Seoul.

Koreans tend not to like it because it's gamey, but there are some Korean lamb barbeque places around, so it might not be impossible.

Go out Exit 2, keep walking for about ten minutes, perhaps a bit less. It will be on the left (same side of the street), a bit past the main strip once you start going down the hill.

They also have excellent beef tenderloin at really reasonable prices by Korean standards.

You can also buy lamb at the russian bakery and the russian supermarket below kazakstan restauarant. I'm sure there must be a place between dondaemun station and dongmyo ap station too, but never really checked it out.

There is a rather large butcher's market in Majang-dong, as you were told. It's kind of a pain in the ass to get there if you don't know Seongdong-gu at all though. Majang Station is on Line 5 between Dapshimni and Wangsimni, but I don't recall the market being that close to the stop. I believe it's closer to Yongdu Station, which is on the Sinseoldong Station arm of Line 2. You would need to leave the station and head toward Wangsimni. It's definitely closer to Yongdu Station, but still at least a half kilometer.

Find an Indian restaurant and ask them where they buy their lamb. Ask an Indian/Arab/Persian where they buy lamb. That'd be who I'd ask.

This is slightly off topic Anyone know a place that serves raw lamb? I picked up a taste for it a while back. I'd suggestions by word of mouth over a google search any day. Gotta be really careful with raw meat
