Hey guys got my first placement in South Korea starting this September (heading out in august) in Incheon with IMOE. Anyone else going out at this time? The 9 day orientation sounds like its going to be a laugh with 100+ young people in the same hotel! |

You're in for a surprise. Incheon orientation is a prison camp in disguise - with a manager that's actually worse than most prison caretakers. Good luck. |

Not all young people...I was 39, my roommate at orientation was 51 and there were plenty of other people in their mid to late 30s. Of course, most of the older folk were mellow and tended to stick together and had no problem with the curfew. The fresh out of college kids...well, there were some interesting stories.
Anyway, I went through the Incheon orientation back in Feb 2010 and it wasn't all bad. They do a good job of giving you a quick snapshot of what to expect in terms of food, language, classes, etc. Better than just arriving in Korea and being thrown in the classroom the next day.
Just returned to the US after two years in Incheon and I already miss it. |

hey Phil (sorry, can't PM). I was in Incheon until recently as well. Do you know what district you'll be in? I'm heading back to Korea at the end of June, but on the other side of Seoul this time. Although I wasn't employed by IMOE, let me know if I can help you out with anything Incheon-living-related. |
