| Is there anywhere nice to go this weekend WITHOUT herds of Koreans? I have a car, so am able to drive to such destinations. I'm looking for something peaceful, yet not 'sleep on the floor in the middle of disgusting nowhere' hotels. Any city/town recommendations? |

| I stayed at a pension near Chiaksan last year around the same time and really enjoyed it. Most Koreans haven't even heard of the place, and few go as there isn't really public transportation there; I actually went there planning to escape crowds. I spent a good chunk of the time just hanging out next to a river in the mountains, going swimming when I got hot. There's not much there, but if you just want to get out of the concrete box that is Seoul, it's a nice place to go. |
